Indo-German dialogue on role of Standards Developing Organisations intensified: Indian delegation visits Berlin and Frankfurt
To achieve the vision “one nation - one standard”, the Indian government is encouraging more than 50 Standards Developing Organisations (SDOs) to engage more actively in standards development. This shall contribute to a more coordinated and harmonised formulation of standards within the country and internationally.
Sino-German Working Group on Product Safety conducts workshops on rapid alert systems and e-commerce

In conjuncture with the Annual Meeting of the Sino-German Working Group on Product Safety, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) and the Chinese State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) conducted two technical workshops. They served as a platform to address current challenges in greater detail and discuss possible solutions with participants from ministries and relevant stakeholders. The workshops took place in Beijing, P.R. China, on 4th of November.
Sino-German Cooperation on Risk Management and Recall Processes in the Automotive Industry
The Sino-German Sub-Working Group Automotive Safety (Project Line 2) on Risk Management and Recall Processes held a workshop with regulators from China’s State Administration of Market Regulations (SAMR) on 4 November 2019. Building on past regular technical exchanges and discussions, the workshop helped to advance ongoing topics and solidify shared interests between the German automotive industry and the Chinese regulatory authority.

The Annual Meetings of the Sino-German Working Group on Product Safety and the Sino-German Working Group on Accreditation and Conformity Assessment and their preceding technical workshops were held on 4th and 5th of November 2019 in Beijing, P.R. China. The Working Groups are part of the Sino-German Cooperation on Quality Infrastructure between the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) and the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) / the Certification and Accreditation Administration (CNCA) of the P.R. China.
Modi and Merkel reaffirm commitment to Indo-German cooperation on Quality Infrastructure

At the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the German Chancellor Angela Merkel visited India from 31 October to 1 November 2019 for the 5th Indo-German Inter-Governmental Consultations. Chancellor Merkel was accompanied by the Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Federal Minister of Education and Research, the Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture, as well as further delegates and industry representatives.

Second Annual Working Group Meeting of the German Mexican Dialogue on Quality Infrastructure

On October 10, the Second Annual Working Group Meeting of the German-Mexican Dialogue on Quality Infrastructure was held in León, Guanajuato, Mexico, where the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) and the Mexican Ministry of Economics (Secretaría de Economía, SE) signed the work plan for 2019/2020 and agreed on their further cooperation in the areas of standardization, accreditation and conformity assessment as well as product safety and market surveillance.
