7th Annual Meeting of the Indo-German Working Group on Quality Infrastructure under the political leadership of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) and the Indian Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution (MoCAF&PD) on 16 and 17 January 2020 in Delhi.
As agreed in the Work Plan 2019-2020, the German-Brazilian Dialogue on Quality Infrastructure is closely cooperating with INMETRO, the Brazilian National Institute of Metrology Standardization and Industrial Quality, on the planning and implementation of its new regulatory model. Against this background, representatives from the German private sector as well as quality infrastructure institutions are cordially invited to take part in the work shop.

The 9th Meeting of the Sub-Working Group Industrie 4.0 / Intelligent Manufacturing of the Sino-German Standardisation Cooperation Commission (SGSCC) will take place on 7-8 and 11 November 2019 in Berlin, Germany. The meeting is politically lead by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of P.R. China (MIIT).
On 5 November, the Sino-German Working Group Product Safety and the Sino-German Working Group Accreditation and Conformity Assessment will each hold their 9th Annual Meeting in Beijing.
On Thursday, 10 October 2019, the annual meeting of the German-Mexican WG Quality Infrastructure will take place in León. Under the leadership of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) and the Mexican Ministry of Economy (SE), numerous experts and business representatives from both countries will meet in the city of León to jointly adopt a work plan for further cooperation on quality infrastructure.
On Monday, 16 September 2019, the annual meeting of the German-Brazilian AG Quality Infrastructure will take place in Natal. Under the leadership of Director-General Stefan Schnorr from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) and Deputy Minister Carlos da Costa from the Brazilian Ministry of Economy (ME), representatives of industry and experts from both countries will meet to jointly adopt a work plan for further cooperation in quality infrastructure.
The Global Project Quality Infrastructure invites stakeholders from German companies in Brazil for a workshop that will take place in the premises of the German-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in São Paulo.
On 18 June, stakeholders of the German industry and QI landscape will have the opportunity to discuss future cooperation topics for the bilateral dialogues with Brazil and Mexico.

Electric mobility especially standards and regulations, which is of growing importance for India’s future transportation system will be another highlight of the event.

Pawlowska, Project Head for Data Protection at the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS) giving an overview of data protection certification in the context of the GDPR and the status of implementation in Germany (by video conferencing). The rapid spread of networked products and devices – or Internet of Things (IoT) devices – puts cyber security at the centre of attention across sectors. From manufacturing, healthcare, smart home to interconnected vehicles, cyber security solutions are needed that prevent negative impacts for people’s health and privacy, business activities, the environment, and national security. Given the international relevance of IoT device security, India and Germany collaborate on effective responses by the public and private sectors.
The 6th Annual Meeting of the Indo-German Working Group on Quality Infrastructure took place on 17th and 18th of January 2019 in Berlin. Participants of the meeting received an update on the achievements of the Working Group in 2018 and discussed cooperation topics and goals for 2019.
